Wedding bells silenced. Accusations of infidelity and a family rift rock Dak Prescott's personal life, leaving fans to question their role.

FRISCO - There is damage. And there is "damage control.''

And both are now part of the story of Dallas Cowboys star quarterback Dak Prescott's high-profile pre-wedding breakup with fiancée Sarah Jane Ramos.

The wedding was supposed to take place in Lake Como, Italy in April; it has been called off.

Initially, some reports stated that the pair broke up because Ramos did not want to sign a pre-nup, which was later noted by her to be untrue.

"This had nothing to do with a pre-nup,'' she wrote on social media. "I hope we can put that rumor to rest right now.''

And now comes another unfortunate angle.

We have seen reports that a heated argument took place at their joint bachelor and bachelorette parties in the Bahamas, as trouble had reportedly been brewing for the past couple of months.

And one outlet is insisting that the conflict is about Prescott's alleged infidelity.

"Sarah Jane Ramos called off her wedding to NFL star Dak Prescott after accusing him of “ongoing infidelity issues,” Page Six reports, adding, "A source familiar with the situation claims to us that Ramos believes Prescott had a history of communicating with other women during his relationship with her — but that she stayed with him hoping he would clean up his act for the sake of their family.''

And an email the couple sent to its guests that has been obtained by TMZ, and reads as follows:

"As many of you know, our wedding is currently scheduled to take place in Lake Como, Italy, on Friday, April 10, 2026,” the email read. “It is with heavy hearts that we privately inform our attendees that we have made the very difficult decision to cancel our wedding.

“We deeply apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you and we welcome your prayers.”

In this space, we have no interest in mocking the couple; Dak and Sarah Jane have two young daughters, and we are sensitive to that.

But both of the adults here are public figures, and have reaped the rewards of that. This is therefore certainly a "celebrity page'' story. Like a movie star, Prescott makes his $60 million per year because people are interested in him; people aren't required to reduce their interest level just because the celebrity's story turns sour.

And all of this is also football news. ... as it would be for any quarterback and any standout player on any NFL team.

How will Dak handle this unfortunate (and allegedly unseemly) personal issue in a way that separates it from a professional calling that is very much a public trust?

It's not a violation of Prescott's privacy for devoted Cowboys fans - including the millions who adore Dak - to take at least a moment to ponder that.

That's because it is a news story ... along with all of this being a sad story.
