Cowboys boost offensive line and secondary, potentially landing two "monsters" in Round 4 with a versatile tackle and a physical cornerback.
FRISCO - The Dallas Cowboys might just need more insurance along the offensive line and in the defensive backfield.
Or maybe they need better players.
For now, via two picks made in Round 4 of this NFL Draft?
Let's go with the former idea.
With the 112th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft , the Cowboys just selected Penn State tackle Drew Shelton.
And then at 114, it’s Florida cornerback Devin Moore.
And the Cowboys’ third fourth-round pick, No. 137 overall, is Alabama D-lineman L.T. Overton.
Here's the up-to-the-moment Cowboys' list of 2026 NFL Draft picks ...
Round 1, Pick 11: S Caleb Downs, Ohio State
Round 1, Pick 23: Edge Malachi Lawrence, UCF
Round 3, Pick 92: LB/Edge Jaishawn Barham, Michigan
Round 4, Pick 112: Shelton
Round 4, Pick 114: Moore
Round 4, Pick 137: Overton
Round 7, Pick 218
The Cowboys have invested greatly in their offensive line, and the hope is that Tyler Guyton and Terence Steele will hold up as the starting tackles.
There is the option to slide All-Pro guard Tyler Smith outside to left tackle, but that's not preferred.
For the moment, let's pencil in two-year starter Shelton as an athletic possible helper as a swing tackle.
At Penn State, Shelton - 6-5, 313 - surrendered just one sack and 18 pressures in 721 snaps.
Florida's Moore tied for his team lead in interceptions last season and has those "traits'' in terms of what the Cowboys often look for with his length. By reputation, he's also not scared to tackle.
Dallas' secondary, with DaRon Bland leading the returnees and free agents Jalen Thompson and Cobie Durant joining the fold along with Downs, will now have a different look ... with Moore likely facing an uphill challenge to get snaps.
Moore - 6-3 and 198 - was the No. 85 prospect in this class, according to PFF. Our colleague Marcus Mosher calls him a "monster'' at the position.
So maybe that's two "monsters'' to add to the Dallas depth chart.
