The Cowboys were once again embarrassed at home, with the Chargers doing as they pleased.

The Dallas Cowboys fell in their home finale against the Los Angeles Chargers 34-17 on Sunday at AT&T Stadium in what was yet another embarrassing performance.

The defensive adjustment of having coordinator Matt Eberflus didn't work (cue shocked face) as Justin Herbert sliced up the unit, as he was barely pressured at all.

The offense, after a stellar first half, was shut down in the second, with Dak Prescott and Co. struggling to keep pace with the Chargers, who scored points at will.

Before the game, we highlighted five things the Cowboys could do to get a win in their final home game of the year.

    Let's see how they did.

    1 - Protect Dak Prescott - Grade C

With Tyler Smith at left tackle and T.J. Bass at left guard, the Cowboys' offensive line had its moments, with Dak sacked just once, but the Chargers' defensive line did get pressure several times.

Also, the offensive line had multiple third-down penalties which backed them up.

An indifferent performance with Dak going 21 of 30 for 244 yards and two touchdowns while having a rating of 116.5 before being pulled in the fourth quarter.

2 - Get to the magic number - Grade F

The Cowboys had to get to 28 points. That was the magic number with the Chargers, 0-2, when allowing it.

Dallas scored 17 first-half points, and it looked like it was on its way, but a second-half shutout saw the Cowboys not get close.

George Pickens (7 rec, 130 yards, 1 TD), CeeDee Lamb (6 rec, 51 yards) did their part, but the Chargers blanketed Dallas in the second half.

    3 - Win the turnover battle - Grade F

Multiple failed fourth-down attempts could be seen as turnovers, and then we had the Joe Milton fumble in the fourth quarter.

So, the stats will say Dallas lost the turnover battle 1-0, but it could be 3-0 with those fourth downs.

    4 - Convert red-zone chances - Grade D

Dak led a 12-play, 79-yard TD drive on the opening series, and Dallas got back into the redzone on its second series, but settled for a field goal.

The Cowboys then had a fourth-down attempt stopped at the Chargers' 16-yard line with the score at 24-17 in the third quarter, as Brian Schottenheimer's team went 1/3 in the redzone. L.A. was 2/4.

5 - Trevon Diggs to pass 2026 audition? Grade C

Diggs didn't have an impactful game, which put him right on par with all of his teammates.

He might've not been at fault on the early Ladd McConkey TD, but no matter ...

There wasn't anything that moved the needle either way for Trevon, but it was good to see him out on the field. ... though again, his level of mediocrity here typified Dallas' day - and year, as they have two games left on the road as they sit at 6-8-1.
