All eyes are on Pickens for a potential contract extension next offseason, but there is also someone else who could look to sit at the negotiating table.
The Dallas Cowboys, this offseason, have no contract drama hanging over their heads for the first time in recent memory.
Javonte Williams, Brandon Aubrey, and George Pickens all getting their deals sorted out before mandatory minicamp, there is no drama for Brian Schottenheimer's team.
Oh, how the times have changed.
But if Cowboys fans were thinking this could be the new norm, well, we've got some unfortunate news.
We know that the Cowboys, if they wanted to, could franchise tag Pickens again, which has been floated as a potential idea by many, which would be the easiest way to keep No. 3 in Dallas.
However, it is worth noting that Pickens isn't the only big-name player set to be at the center of a contract negotiation.
The other is linebacker DeMarvion Overshown.
And as ESPN's Todd Archer writes, next offseason could become rather problematic for the front office if both stars ball out.
"Wide receiver George Pickens is set to play the 2026 season on the franchise tag as the Cowboys said they will not negotiate a long-term deal," Archer wrote.
"If Pickens has another Pro Bowl season and Overshown remains healthy and produces, it would make for an interesting dilemma because there would be only one franchise tag to go around. Oh, and both players have the same agent, David Mulugheta."
Could the Cowboys be forced to choose between Overshown and Pickens?
Overshown looms as the one with the most to gain from a stellar 2026 campaign, as injuries have riddled his career so far, but we have seen flashes of his talent, and it is Pro Bowl-caliber.
As for Pickens, his APY is already over $ 30 million, so if he has another good season, it could push north of $35 million. So that will be a pretty penny.
As for Overshown, there are nine linebackers earning $15+ million APY, so where would he land on that list? Could the Cowboys get Agent 0 for a deal, say, for three-years at $24 million? That's $8 million APY for a player who has a history of injuries.
So, while this offseason has seen contracts done quickly and effectively, the Cowboys have Pickens and Overshown set to be the center of attention if everything goes well in 2026.
