The Dallas Cowboys drew a familiar face for their annual Thanksgiving Day showcase.
FRISCO, Texas - The Dallas Cowboys' schedule is beginning to take shape after the full release comes on Thursday, May 14.
"America's Team" will open their season in Week 1 under the lights of Sunday Night Football for an NBC primetime matchup with the division rival New York Giants.
And on Monday, we learned that that won't be the only high-profile NFC East showing in 2026.
The Cowboys will host the Philadelphia Eagles on Thanksgiving Day in Week 12 of this upcoming season. The game, annually hosted at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, will be broadcast live on FOX at 3:30 p.m. CT.
There will be no shortage of star power on the home side, of course, barring any injury-related misfortune at this point in the schedule. Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, and newly-signed stars George Pickens and Brandon Aubrey headline the Cowboys' weapons.
Of course, it'll also be the first Thanksgiving game day experience for highly-touted safety Caleb Downs, along with the rest of his rookie class.
On the other side, Philly will be led by former Super Bowl MVP Jalen Hurts and star running back Saquon Barkley. However, the Eagles offense could be without one less Pro Bowl-caliber player if wide receiver A.J. Brown is officially released or traded this offseason, as has been speculated for months.
Philadelphia GM Howie Roseman turned in the card to draft USC's shifty wideout Makai Lemon in the first round of this spring's NFL Draft.
Inside the Numbers - Cowboys vs. Eagles
The two division foes have decades worth of history between them, but recent numbers suggest a competitive affair that might slightly lean in Dallas' favor, despite Brian Schottenheimer's team finishing 7-9-1 and out of the playoffs in his first year as head coach. Philadelphia, meanwhile, went 11-6 and won the division in back-to-back years (a rare feat in the NFC East).
In the NFL's season-opener last year, the Eagles escaped with a 24-20 win at Lincoln Financial Field. Dallas responded with a 24-21 win in Week 12, capped by a game-winning field goal by Aubrey that sparked the beginning of a three-game skid for the birds.
Most of the Cowboys' success in this matchup comes with Prescott under center. Dallas' veteran quarterback is 7-1 against Philadelphia in his career at home. He's averaged 292 passing yards and two touchdowns per game in those contests.
However, Dak will have his work cut out for him on turkey day. The Eagles are 2-0 all-time against Dallas on Thanksgiving.
Philadelphia shut out Dallas 27-0 in 1984 before winning in 2014, 33-10.
The Cowboys are 35-22-1 all-time on the holiday and winners of four straight. Most recently, Dallas beat the Kansas City Chiefs 31-28 in front of 57.23 million viewers, making it the most-watched game in NFL history.
Considering the Cowboys' intense rivalries within their division, this draw shouldn't come as too much of a surprise. The Eagles are the third and final NFC East team to play Dallas on Thanksgiving since 2022.
The two other confirmed games on the Cowboys' schedule include the Giants in East Rutherford in Week 1 and the Baltimore Ravens in Week 3 in Rio de Janeiro.
