The one-year anniversary of Micah Parsons' move from Frisco to Lambeau is just under four weeks away.
But in the offseason that followed Parsons' inaugural campaign as a Green Bay Packer, the Cowboys acquired a piece to fill the void he left from the very place they'd sent him.
Dallas acquired Rashan Gary for a fourth-rounder in March, but the veteran pass rusher wasted so little time emerging as a dependable, vocal presence ... that he was appointed to Brian Schottenheimer's 11-man leadership council.
That's quite the display of respect for a player so new to Schotty's culture, but the feeling is mutual.
Beyond stating how easy it is "to go to war for a guy" like Dak Prescott, Gary expressed how pleasant his experience in Dallas has been thus far by referencing Parsons' own opinion.
Apparently, the Cowboys' ex told the Packers' ex that he was in for a good time at The Star.
And ...
“So far, his words have been right,” Gary said.
Gary's comment follows a consistent pattern of Parsons speaking fondly about the organization ... regardless of how things ended.
Despite the messy public breakup, Parsons has rarely spoken negatively about the Cowboys themselves. Instead, he's consistently separated his appreciation for the organization and fan base from the business side of his departure.
Even his brother, Terrence Parsons Jr., who openly questioned Dallas' decision to replace his brother with Gary, reinforces Micah's sentiment
"Yeah, bro, Gary and Micah were pretty cool," Terrence told our Mike Fisher. "Micah loved Dallas for sure."
If Gary comes to love being a Cowboy as much as Parsons did, Dallas will have added a passionate and valuable resource to help establish a growing culture in the locker room and on the defensive side of the ball.
But if his performance reflects that passion and value as it has in Oxnard, Christian Parker will have a versatile, experienced EDGE to help shore up what was a weak pass rush in 2025.
Early returns already point in that direction, because those same traits that earned Gary a seat on the leadership council are showing up in practice.
