When the Dallas Cowboys traded for George Pickens last offseason, there was a sense of excitement as Dak Prescott now had two No. 1 receivers.
Pairing Pickens with All-Pro CeeDee Lamb, many thought the Cowboys would have an elite offense in 2025.
And they did.
Pickens would have a career-best year, posting 1,429 yards and 9 TDs, while oddly, Lamb played second-fiddle, yet still put up 1,077 yards and 3 TDs.
Combined, the pair hauled in 168 receptions for 2,506 yards and 12 TDs. That is the true definition of a star tandem.
If Lamb was taken away, Pickens would have 100+ yards, and vice versa.
So it gave Dallas one of the best receiver duos in football.
But when stacking CeeDee and George up against some of the NFL's other elite duos, where do they rank?
Bleacher Report's Moe Moton has them at No. 3, behind only Puca Nacua/Davante Adams (No.2) and Ja'Marr Chase/Tee Higgins (No. 1).
"Last year, Pickens recorded career highs across multiple receiving categories, hauling in 93 passes for 1,429 yards and nine touchdowns in his first Pro Bowl campaign," Moton wrote.
"In Dallas, Pickens may be the league's best No. 2 receiver because he shares targets with CeeDee Lamb, who's established himself as a perennial Pro Bowler and All-Pro. Lamb has racked up over 1,000 receiving yards in five consecutive Pro Bowl years and led the league with 135 receptions in 2023."
Is No. 3 right? I think so.
Given that Pickens has only had one stellar year of production, and Nacua, Adams, Chase, and Higgins have been doing it for years, I think top three is a good place ot land.
Of course, if Pickens replicates his 2025 efforts in 2026, then who knows where this duo could land in future lists.
But right now, they have to be seen as one of the best tandems in football.
Now the hard part is to do it again. In Year 2 with Brian Schottenheimer's offense, the hope is that there is more to come from George and CeeDee.
Because if we are being truthful, along with Dak, they hold the Cowboys' entire 2026 hopes in their hands.
