After shattering records and torching the Texans’ elite secondary in a dramatic homecoming victory, Dallas' star wideout delivers a defiant message of unity for his coaching staff.

The Dallas Cowboys got back to .500 with a 34-30 win over the Houston Texans at NRG Stadium on Sunday, with a main storyline being the thrilling performance of CeeDee Lamb.

The Cowboys' No. 1 weapon terrorized a Texans defense that had no answer to him as Dak Prescott fed Lamb to the tune of 17 receptions on 21 targets for 189 yards and the go-ahead touchdown with 40 seconds left.

It now sees Lamb move fourth all-time in receiving yards in Cowboys history, going past franchise legend and Hall of Famer Drew Pearson.

His return to Houston and playing at NRG for the first time was a special moment for Lamb, and he tore apart the Texans' defense, which boasts two elite corners.

And speaking after the game on his receiver's performance, head coach Brian Schottenheimer isn't the least bit surprised.

“CeeDee plays the way he always plays, dynamite," Schottenheimer said. “He’s been playing that way all year, the ball found him a lot that’s what happens, the beauty of our offense is if you want to try and take away George or CeeDee, we got another guy over there who is pretty good.

"He put on a show tonight against a really good defense, with two really excellent corners, he just kept finding ways to get open, huge conversions, third downs. He’s a special young man, worked so hard, and deserves everything that comes his way."

In what was an odd twist, the Cowboys found themselves in the exact same position as last week. They needed a touchdown late to win the game and were inside the red zone.

Against the Baltimore Ravens in Rio, they played it safe. In Houston? They went for the win.

On that go-ahead final drive, Lamb caught five passes for 50 yards, including a 12-yard touchdown strike from Dak.

And for CeeDee, after Schottenheimer took the brunt of criticism for the failures last week, No. 88 had a message for his head coach.

“I just want Schotty to know that I got his back, I’m with him," said Lamb, who called this a homecoming game of sorts because he grew up in Houston. "I’m one of his strongest soldiers. It’s just going to battle with each other. I feel like once you have that confidence and know who you’re going to battle with, just shoot your gun, and I feel like he shot it.”

With a career-high 17 receptions for 189 yards, Lamb was the definition of a game-wrecker for Dallas as the Cowboys' leading star.

His start to the season has been immense.

In just four games, he's totaled 37 receptions for 498 yards and 4 TDs (most in Cowboys history too).

One of Dallas' greatest soldiers, indeed.
