Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb just ended one thing that might have hindered George Pickens' proposed contract.

The Dallas Cowboys' offseason is already heating up during Super Bowl week as the franchise looks like it is settling in for another key contract saga (cue shocked face).

Last year, it was Micah Parsons, who ended up a Green Bay Packer.

This time, it is Pro Bowl receiver George Pickens.

In a trade acquisition last offseason, the Cowboys were taking a risk on a player many had doubts about, given George's fiery personality.

But we quickly came to realise that George was nothing like the person he was portrayed as in Pittsburgh.

Pickens would enjoy the best season of his career, posting 1,429 yards and 9 TDs from 93 receptions to be the best Cowboys weapon.

But that season now sees Pickens' free agency price tag skyrocket.

Expected to be franchise tagged by Dallas, which would see George make $28 million in 2026, some think that won't be enough.

Instead, a Lamb-type deal of around $34 million, if not more.

We know how funny these "being the highest-paid at your position" narratives can be, and when we add in that Pickens could get a contract that makes him more than Lamb, this is where trouble could start.

Speaking with CBS Sports' Bryant McFadden, CeeDee was asked how he would feel if George did, in fact, get a contract this offseason that surpasses his.

"I would feel great," Lamb said. "I never watched anybody's money but mine, and what I can do for my family. If he makes more money than me, I will be the first to congratulate him personally.

"In fact, I hope he do make more, I really do. I told y'all there's no ego here. There's none, it's still none."

There you go. Narrative squashed.

Many doubt the validity of having two $30 million APY receivers on your roster and what that means for the team's ability to fill out the rest of the squad. The Cincinnati Bengals have Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, yet have consistently missed the playoffs.

So there is a concern that it won't work and leave the Cowboys short in other areas.

Luckily, there are two first-round picks to be used this offseason, too.

Still, Lamb isn't fussed about George making more than him, but saying that, and actually being "fine" with it, are two different things.

CeeDee says there's no ego involved, and right now, it's hard to believe otherwise.
