The Cowboys have addressed a couple of defensive needs this offseason, but more is needed.

The Dallas Cowboys' free agency plans have been different from what we've been accustomed to over the years, but they still leave a little to be desired.

Of course, we thought the Cowboys would bust the budget given Jerry Jones' comments, and they might have. We don't know the budget for free agency.

Rashan Gary, Jalen Thompson, P.J. Locke, and Cobie Durant have been signed for Christian Parker's defense, but more is needed.

The Cowboys were reportedly in for Quay Walker and Nakobe Dean to fill the need at linebacker, but both joined the Las Vegas Raiders.

That has left the Cowboys with precious little to look at as free agency rolls on.

Of course, there is the draft, where Dallas has picks No. 12 and No. 20, but in an ideal world, the franchise would add a veteran on a cheap deal to help with the transition to Parker's defense.

We have already mentioned Bobby Okereke as an option for Dallas.

And now CBS Sports' Jordan Dajani also has Okereke as an option for the Cowboys.

"Bobby Okereke could stay in the NFC East, as the Dallas Cowboys have a need at inside linebacker,” Dajani wrote. “Okereke recorded 143 tackles, one sack, six passes defended and two interceptions last season for the New York Giants, and has crossed 90 tackles in each of the last five years.

“The former team captain was a consistent contributor that new Cowboys defensive coordinator Christian Parker got a good look at twice a year. Let's send him to Dallas.”

The Cowboys need a linebacker, maybe two over the coming months, and Okereke is an interesting option.

He played all 17 games for the New York Giants last season, grabbing two interceptions and having 143 tackles.

For reference, Dallas' highest tackler from last season was Shemar James with 91.

A linebacker who gets sideline to sideline, Okereke's tackling and physicality are two huge traits that the Cowboys need. Not to mention his leadership.

No, he won't be a headline-grabbing signing, but the Cowboys don't necessarily need them. More so, quality signings.

Okereke would be a shrewd piece of business at a position of need for Dallas, and to pair him with DeMarvion Overshown, and possibly a draftee, could give Parker a good group to work with.
