Lamb has been in superb form, and his head coach just hinted at why that might be the case.
Much of the focus this season has been on the Dallas Cowboys' defense under rookie coordinator Christian Parker and what they aren't doing well.
Offensively, the Cowboys have their issues, but it isn't a deep-dive concern like it is with the defense. And that has meant CeeDee Lamb's start to 2026 might have gotten overlooked.
Coming off one of his worst seasons in 2025 (still surpassing 1,000 receiving yards), Lamb has started 2026 with a bang.
In three games, he's posted 309 yards and 3 TDs (the same total as all of last season) as No. 88 has found his groove early.
Given the other weapons on offense, Lamb is the shining light alongside George Pickens, and we know his health is a big reason for his fast start to the year.
But that's us. What has Brian Schottenheimer seen from CeeDee?
"He looks really explosive to me, and that's weird for me to say that because he is explosive, but he's a different type of explosive right now," Schottenheimer said. "I mean, just the way he's running his routes, the way he's creating separation, the lower-body power and explosiveness just jumps at me.
"I know he feels he feels pretty good. What's been cool for me is seeing the joy that he's having from playing the game. Last year he had a great year, he always does, but battled injuries and things like that, but he's in a really good headspace right now."
Lamb has been banged up the past couple of seasons, but has still put up good numbers; however, he does look different in 2026.
He's more explosive, as Schotty mentioned. Plus, of his 25 receptions, 20 have been for first downs, so he's moving the chains. And in the last two weeks, he's caught 15 of 17 targets.
We get so caught up in Pickens and what he can do, that sometimes we forget what an elite, All-Pro receiver Lamb is, and through three weeks, he's reminding us of his quality.
Against a Houston Texans team that struggles to contain opposing No. 1 weapons, 1-2 Dallas at 0-3 Houston on Sunday could be another game where No. 88 takes over.
