The NFL offseason has come now that the Seattle Seahawks have beat the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl, which means that trade predictions are going to be flying left and right.
And with them being America's Team, the Dallas Cowboys are going to be involved in a lot of them.
In a recent article by Bleacher Report's Moe Moton, he proposes what he believes is the dream trade scenario for every NFL team. For the Cowboys, he says what everyone is thinking and proposes that Dallas go for Raiders superstar Maxx Crosby.
"Ironically, the Las Vegas Raiders want a return that compares to what the Cowboys received from the Green Bay Packers in the Micah Parsons deal," Moton writes. "If the Cowboys pull off a seismic trade for Crosby, they could have a dominant defensive line that also features Quinnen Williams and Kenny Clark... In 2025, Dallas gave up the most points and passing yards. It can address the secondary in the draft. A young group of defensive backs would benefit from playing behind a strong front led by Crosby, a five-time Pro Bowler."
Dallas has two first-round selections early in the 2026 draft, and Bleacher Report suggests packaging one of them to open preliminary talks with the Raiders. The idea is that adding Crosby to a front that already boasts interior disruptors like Quinnen Williams and Kenny Clark could vault the Cowboys into true championship contention.
A new question: Does Crosby "fit'' what Dallas plans to do with new coordinator Christian Parker? And the short answer is "yes.''
Crosby is one of the best edge rushers in the entire league, and he finished this past season with 10 sacks and 73 total tackles to be named to his fifth career Pro Bowl. And if it wasn't for Myles Garrett having a legendary season, Crosby would have most likely led the league in tackles for loss with 28.
At 6-5 and 255 and with his never-stopping motor? Crosby can play "edge'' and be versatile in Parker's "Multiple 3-4'' scheme.
Of course, linking Crosby to Dallas has been a rollercoaster. There have been speculation and reports that the Cowboys inquired about Crosby last season, though some beat sources pushed back on whether any formal talks ever took place.
For right now, it remains a dream scenario, but it’s one many Cowboys fans are willing to entertain — because after a disappointing 2025 season, this franchise needs more than incremental improvements. Adding a game-changer like Maxx Crosby could be exactly the kind of bold swing that turns Dallas from contender to true NFC title threat.
