Lamb is a superstar of the NFL, but over the past two seasons, something concerning is happening to No. 88.
There is no denying that Dallas Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb is a superstar of the NFL, with No. 88 proving he is the straw that stirs the offense's drink.
With Lamb having five straight seasons of 1,000+ yards, the ability to run any route, be a threat in the short and intermediate game, along with being devastating after the catch, CeeDee is the one player defenses have to take away.
But one thing that has been a little bit of an issue for CeeDee has been drops.
Every year of his career, CeeDee has had at least six drops, and through six seasons, 43 in total, which is rather surprising.
For reference, Lamb has 43 drops, and Justin Jefferson has 23 since 2023. Both are elite receivers, but Jefferson doesn't drop nearly as many passes.
We saw in Week 1 of 2025 with Lamb's costly drops in that fourth quarter against the Philadelphia Eagles as Dallas was driving to win the game. Brutal stuff.
And it isn't the first time drops have been an issue, but to Lamb's credit, whenever he has a game as he did in Week 1, he bounces back the following week.
And yes, there are always factors to it as well, but there is also something that has come to my attention that is a little alarming, if you want to call it that.
Over the past two seasons, Lamb's catch percentage has barely been above 50 percent. Meaning he catches roughly half the passes thrown to him.
Lamb's 50.0 percent (2024) and 51.3 percent (2025) are both his lowest catch percentages since his rookie season in 2020. From 2021 through 2023, Lamb's catch percentage increased each year (53.3, 55.1, and 63.5 in his All-Pro season).
Now, we know Lamb was banged up in his last two seasons, with his shoulder (2024) and ankle last year, so that no doubt factors into it.
But stating to Ryan Clark, he's the healthiest he's been in two seasons, maybe we are about to see a different CeeDee in 2026.
One that catches the ball and has minimal drops.
