An unusual prediction suggests the Cowboys' star receiver could join Josh Allen in Buffalo, leaving Dak Prescott with a thinned-out arsenal.

The Dallas Cowboys' entire offseason will be a must-watch for fans and media alike for a host of reasons.

One is how the franchise, with new defensive coordinator Christian Parker address the horror defense. The other is how contract talks go with Pro Bowl receiver George Pickens.

A free agent after a stellar season that saw Pickens post 1,429 yards and nine touchdowns from 93 receptions (all career highs by the way) as he developed into a trusted Dak Prescott weapon, all eyes are on George.

Having the same agent as Micah Parsons, for some, is problematic given how that contract saga played out, but the Cowboys surely have to have a better plan for Pickens.

Well, they do.

According to our own Mike Fisher, the Cowboys are planning on franchise tagging George (at roughly $28 million in 2026), because it is the "easiest path" for the franchise.

We know George isn't likely to be anywhere but Dallas in 2026, but that hasn't stopped odd predictions from coming out.

Like PFSN's Ryan Guthrie, who thinks Pickens could be on his way to the Buffalo Bills this offseason.

"The Bills’ window is now," Guthrie wrote. "After firing Sean McDermott, general manager Brandon Beane has no excuses left. Josh Allen needs a true alpha target, and Pickens is the best one available.

"George Pickens is a nightmare underneath and one of the league’s premier contested-catch and vertical threats. This move screams urgency."

So let's play this out.

There likely isn't a legitimate reason Pickens isn't a Cowboy in 2026.

If the Cowboys franchise tag him, could Pickens sit out? In theory, yes. But it's a long shot.

I have even seen scenarios online where the Cowboys tag and then trade George to get something in return.

But what most fail to see is if Pickens did leave, Prescott would be left with CeeDee Lamb ... and then Ryan Flournoy as his top weapons. You could throw in Jake Ferguson, too.

That isn't getting it done for Brian Schottenheimer. The offense is set, and if the defense improves to be league-average under Parker, this is a playoff team without a doubt.

Take Pickens away? Yeah, that might be a third straight year of no playoffs.

The move makes sense for the Bills, though. Josh Allen needs a weapon like Pickens to stretch the field. Maybe this is the sort of move that puts the Bills over the top.

But the Cowboys would be foolish to let Pickens walk out the door after the season he's just had. ... in exchange for nothing but a future compensatory pick.

And I'm betting they won't.
