The Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles starting off the season is certainly a way to kick it off.
It's one of the fiercest rivalries in the NFC and maybe even in the NFL. It’s more than just a game; its a battle for bragging rights for the rest of the year.
This is a high pressure matchup for Week 1 and the spotlight will be on these key offensive players for both teams.
The hype around the George Pickens trade from the Pittsburgh Steelers has seemed to have gone quiet after all the news surrounding the Micah Parsons trade.
However, Cowboy fans are looking at him to have a breakout season this year as he joins the team.
Pickens was the Steelers' WR1 in 2024 and Dallas is looking for him to fill that spot this fall with them.
The Cowboys have not had two Pro Bowl caliber wide receivers on the team at the same time since 2021.
Pickens is a great fit for the system in Dallas and is looking to take some of the load off other star wide receiver, CeeDee Lamb.
As much as there is to look forward to in the wide receiver room for the Cowboys, it has left question marks in the running back room.
Someone has to run the ball, and all fingers in Dallas are pointing towards Javonte Williams being that guy.
Williams signed a one-year, $3.5 million deal with the Cowboys to get the job done. He is coming off of four up-and-down seasons with the Denver Broncos.
Williams balled out his rookie season, but unfortunately has been pretty inconsistent since coming back from his injury.
As a rookie, Williams finished the year with an appearance in all 17 games and one start.
He recorded 203 carries for 903 yards, averaging 4.4 yards per carry, and four rushing touchdowns.
He also had 43 receptions for 319 yards and three receiving touchdowns.
If Dallas can get 2021 rookie year stats out of Javonte Williams, they have a good shot at winning this game.
While the Cowboys have plenty of stars, the Eagles have their share of difference-makers on the offensive side of the ball surrounding quarterback Jalen Hurts.
Most notably, running back Saquon Barkley. Barkley was just unveiled as the No. 1 player on the NFL’s Top 100 Players List after his historic debut season in Philly last year.
Eagles fans around the country are expecting more of the same from out of him this fall. Barkley had 345 carries, over 200 yards, and averaged 5.8 yards per carry.
On top of putting up numbers like that, he is also one of the most fun players in the league to watch.
No matter how this game plays out, the battle of these offensive players in such a heated rivalry will be must-watch football to kick off the NFL season.
