Miami Dolphins wide receiver coach Robert Prince landed an interview as the New York Giants offensive coordinator under John Harbaugh.

With the Miami Dolphins bringing in Jeff Hafley as the new head coach, the team will bring in a mostly brand-new coaching staff to serve under Hafley's leadership.

Though it is not always the case that a coaching staff has all new assistants, assistants during a regime change often draw attention from other teams. That is the case for current Dolphins wide receivers coach Robert Prince.

Prince has been tapped for an interview for the open offensive coordinator position with the New York Giants under new head coach John Harbaugh.

Per NFL insider Tom Pelissero, Prince interviewed for the Giants' vacant offensive coordinator position on Friday.

Prince has over 30 years of coaching experience, starting his career in 1989 as a graduate assistant with Humboldt State. He would move through the collegiate level as a wide receivers coach and/or an offensive coordinator capacity, eventually landing in the NFL in 2004.

Prince served as a quarterback, running back, and tight end coach with the Atlanta Falcons, eventually moving into being a wide receivers coach with the Seattle Seahawks in 2009.

Prince would serve as the wide receivers coach for Boise State, the Detroit Lions, Houston Texans, Dallas Cowboys, and finally with the Dolphins during the 2025 season. During 2020, he was also named the acting head coach for the Lions when COVID-19 hit.

Simply put, Prince is a very well-respected and strong offensive coach who would be a huge benefit to the Giants staff, should he be hired.

If Prince does join New York, it will be the third known coach from the current Dolphins staff that have found a new opportunity.

Currently, cornerbacks coach Mathieu Araujo joined the Jacksonville Jaguars in the same role, and outside linebackers coach Sean Ryan joined Syracuse as quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator.

Hafley did keep one coach on staff from the 2025 season, as senior passing game coordinator Bobby Slowik was retained and promoted to offensive coordinator for the 2026 season.

The Dolphins have more work in terms of getting the coaching staff in place, which includes the defensive coordinator position.

The offensive coordinator has been decided, as has the special teams coordinator, as former Buffalo Bills special teams coordinator Chris Tabor was also hired.
