The Miami Dolphins are continuing their roster overhaul, as they are releasing Tyreek Hill, and two others.

Miami Dolphins general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan is off and running in cap-cutting moves, as it was announced on Monday the team was cutting veteran pass rusher Bradley Chubb.

Now, a flurry of additional moves has been made, with the biggest now being the release of wide receiver Tyreek Hill.

Per NFL insider Mike Garafolo, the Dolphins released Hill to avoid a $11 million guarantee that would have triggered in March, along with saving $36 million on the cap in 2026.

Hill wasn't the only cut the Dolphins made, as wide receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine and guard James Daniels have also been informed of their release.

This confirms the Miami front office has released four players thus far. Chubb, Hill, Westbrook-Ikhine, and Daniels will now be searching for their next team.

The Dolphins are clearly in a rebuild, and it makes sense that all four of these players have been cut to save on the cap.

There has not yet been an updated cap number, but the Dolphins are likely going to be out of their $17 million deficit with the moves made on Monday.

Hill's release was something that was expected, due to his large contract. However, it is a release that ends a spectacular four-year stretch for the receiver.

After the blockbuster trade between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Dolphins sent Hill to South Florida, he posted his first year of over 1,700 yards, securing 1,710 and five touchdowns.

The chemistry between Hill and Tagovailoa was evident, as he followed that up with a 2023 season of 1,799 yards and 13 touchdowns, both of which led the league.

Unfortunately, Hill suffered a severe ankle injury in 2025, ending his season prematurely. That was the catalyst that led to a down year for the Dolphins and Tagovailoa.

Westbrook-Ikhine never quite emerged as a playmaker after the Dolphins signed him in 2025. After starting three games and appearing in 15, he only managed 89 total yards.

Daniels only appeared in one game in the 2025 season, as he suffered a pectoral injury that kept him out for the remainder of the year. His release is not shocking.

Clearly, the Dolphins are engaging in a full rebuild, and the moves thus far are just a few of what are likely to be more. Sullivan is making good on his promise to rebuild through the draft and rewarding players that way.

Expect more cuts to happen, especially regarding a decision on Tagovailoa to follow soon.
