The Miami Dolphins have reportedly found their new quarterbacks coach in Mississippi State's associate head coach, Bush Hamdan.

Miami Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley continues to fill out his coaching staff, which should be about complete. Adding to the growing list, the team is reportedly set to hire Mississippi State's associate head coach, Bush Hamdan.

CBS Sports' Matt Zenitz reported on the hiring on X.

"The #Dolphins are expected to hire Mississippi State associate head coach for offense Bush Hamdan as quarterbacks coach, sources tell @CBSSports. The ex-Boise State QB previously worked in the NFL as the Falcons QB coach and helped Matt Ryan rank sixth in passing yards in 2017," Zenitz wrote.

Interestingly, this hiring comes a day after it was reported that the Dolphins attempted to interview Detroit Lions coach Bruce Gradkowski for the vacant quarterbacks coach opening, but were blocked.

"Sources: The #Dolphins requested to interview #Lions offensive assistant and former NFL QB Bruce Gradkowski for their QBs coach position, but Detroit blocked the request. Gradkowski had a ton of success as an OC in the XFL with St. Louis — and seems to be valued in Detroit as a rising coach in their building," Tom Pelissero wrote on X.

The Dolphins still got a solid coach in Hamdan, who worked with the Atlanta Falcons and Matt Ryan during the 2017 season, where he threw 4,095 yards and 21 touchdowns.

Hamdan began his coaching career in 2009, landing a student assistant job with Colorado. He would then move to Maryland, where he served as an offensive quality coach.

The majority of Hamdan's experience comes at the collegiate level, with stints as either a quarterbacks coach or offensive coordinator with Florida, Arkansas State, Washington, Missouri, Boise State, and finally as the associate head coach for Mississippi State.

Hamdan will now join the offensive coordinator Bobbty Slowik and pass game coordinator Kevin Patullo to help jumpstart this new era of Dolphins football under Hafley.

What will be interesting is who the quarterback will be. The Dolphins are still on the hook for a sizeable cap hit due to the $54 million owed to Tua Tagovailoa.

They could look to trade Tagovailoa, but would likely need to pay down a huge amount of that owed money, and potentially sweeten things with a draft pick.

Miami has also been connected to Malik Willis, though they would need to make some moves to lower their negative $16 million cap, and get into a place where they can offer the young Green Bay Packers quarterback a decent contract.
