Miami Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley is getting moving on his new coaching staff by interviewing Philadelphia Eagles defensive line coach Clint Hurtt.

The Miami Dolphins are wasting no time in bringing in coaches to add to Jeff Hafley's staff. Former Buffalo Bills special teams coordinator Chris Tabor was hired, and now the Dolphins have secured an interview with a Philadelphia Eagles coach.

Per ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the Dolphins have interviewed Eagles defensive line coach Clint Hurtt for their vacant defensive coordinator position.

"The Dolphins interviewed Eagles defensive line coach Clint Hurtt for their defensive coordinator opening, per sources.

"Hurtt, a former Miami Hurricanes defensive tackle, coordinated Seattle’s defense from 2022-23 before joining Philly’s staff," Fowler wrote on X.

Hurtt is a former defensive lineman, and he played for the Miami Hurricanes. After his playing career ended, he transitioned into coaching in 2003.

Hurtt initially joined Miami as a graduate assistant. He would eventually return to the program to serve as the defensive line coach in 2006, where he remained until 2009.

After 10 years at the collegiate level, Hurtt would eventually land in the NFL, landing a job as the assistant defensive line coach with the Chicago Bears in 2014.

Hurtt would coach for the Seattle Seahawks as assistant head coach and defensive line coach, and as defensive coordinator from 2023 to 2024. He spent the 2025 season as the defensive line coach for the Eagles.

If Hafley were to bring Hurtt in as defensive coordinator, the pair would work in tandem to elevate the Dolphins' defense. Hafley already confirmed in his introductory press conference that he would call defensive plays, and Hurtt would then be his second-in-command for the defensive side of the ball.

Thus far, Hafley and the Dolphins have only interviewed one person for the vacant offensive coordinator position, Houston Texans quarterback coach Jerrod Johnson.

It does appear that Hafley is ramping up the search to bring in coordinators who will serve on his staff, with Tabor already in place. Expect more interviews to pour in this weekend and early next week.

Much like the other nine teams installing new head coaches, there will be a wealth of interviews taking place to secure coordinator positions throughout the league.
