Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle exits game with rib injury cover image

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle has exited the Tampa Bay Buccaneers game with a rib injury.

Miami Dolphins star wide receiver Jaylen Waddle has exited the Tampa Bay Buccaneers showdown with a rib injury.

Waddle picked up one catch for seven yards, but he appeared to get hurt on the catch. He stood up and was grasping at his ribs, leading to him remaining on the sideline.

Trainers were working on the star receiver to help him get back on the field, but Waddle was seen being walked to the locker room with trainers.

Now, Waddle has been hit with a questionable status due to a rib injury.

Waddle is nearly at the 1,000-yard mark for the season, but he will seemingly not be able to secure that number in this game. It might also be difficult for the Dolphins receiver to notch that many yards in the final game of the season in Week 18.

With Waddle out, the Dolphins will rely on tight ends Greg Dulcich and Darren Waller, running back De'Von Achane,  and wide receivers Malik Washington and Theo Wease Jr.

Dolphins rookie Quinn Ewers already pulled off a huge 63-yard bomb to Wease, which ended up being the first career touchdown pass for Ewers, and the first career touchdown reception for Wease.

Waddle being questionable does not mean that he will be ruled out, but he will receive treatment to determine if he can make it back on the field. However, from the looks of it, his rib injury could be rather significant.

The Dolphins are looking for a bounce-back win after being dominated by the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 16.

For the Buccaneers, they are chasing a playoff berth, but will lose it with a loss to the Dolphins.

At the time of this writing, the Dolphins have been playing hard. After a first-quarter touchdown from the Buccaneers, they have been stopped ever since.

The current score is 10-3, and the Dolphins continue to run the ball well with Waddle and Jaylen Wright.

With Waddle out, the Dolphins offense is taking a major hit.
