The Miami Dolphins have not yet extended Jordyn Brooks, but he has received a new prediction on whether that may happen.

There have been plenty of rumors and reports regarding Miami Dolphins linebacker Jordyn Brooks. Brooks was named one of the building blocks and "pillars" of this current reset or rebuild, along with running back De'Von Achane and center Aaron Brewer.

The latter two have received their new deals, leaving Brooks as the outlier. However, according to ESPN's Marcel Louis-Jacques, an extension is likely to happen.

"Brooks has expressed multiple times his interest in remaining with the Dolphins long term, and Miami isn't exactly flush with extension-eligible players. Despite the massive roster churn over the past several months and the fact that the team drafted a pair of off-ball linebackers, it's likely Miami reaches an agreement with the NFL's leading tackler from last season," Louis-Jacques wrote.

One of the most interesting aspects of this prediction touches base on the fact that the Dolphins drafted some young linebacker talent. Jacob Rodriguez and Kyle Louis were brought in, but there is no telling if one or both will be an immediate starter.

Miami also did not have a need at outside linebacker, as Brooks and Tyrel Dodson did a solid job in 2025. Still, the structure of this new era of Dolphins football has been stamped with a competitive label, and general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan and head coach Jeff Hafley have stood on business, regarding that label.

Rodriguez became one of the most-talked-about picks from the draft, simply due to his level of play. He was a turnover monster in 2025 and carried his "peanut punch" prowess into OTAs and minicamp.

That does not mean that he will be at the same level or better than Brooks. Louis is also more of a defensive back/linebacker hybrid that could excel in sub-packages on defense.

Brooks is a quiet leader, but a leader nevertheless. He led the NFL in tackles in 2025, bringing in 183. He also tacked on3.5 sacks.

During a recent podcast appearance, Brooks spoke about "embodying" the new era of football under Hafley and spoke on his leadership in the locker room. Despite his quiet nature in interviews, the All-Pro linebacker shows more than that on the field.

Hafley and Sullivan have been very direct in their intentions with this Miami roster, and that alone should mean that the extension for Brooks is more than likely to happen. There might also have been conversations that happened behind the scenes that the media and fans are not yet privy to.

Brooks is 28 years old and playing the best football of his career. It wouldn't make sense for the Dolphins not to offer an extension to add him to the minimal franchise builders on the team.

The front office may be taking its time, but it makes sense that the prediction is that Brooks gets a new deal to remain in South Florida for multiple more years.
