Miami Dolphins pass rusher Josh Uche does not want to be moved before the trade deadline and he explained why.

The Miami Dolphins are heading into the NFL trade deadline with questions that need to be answered. Jon-Eric Sullivan has some difficult decisions to make on the roster.

On the outside looking in, the Dolphins have a few players who could be moved. Jordyn Brooks and Zach Sieler are the two most notable names who could be on the block.

Another name to monitor could be veteran pass rusher Josh Uche.

Uche, who was originally drafted by the AFC East rival New England Patriots with the No. 60 overall pick in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, has had a rollercoaster career.

He played the first five years of his career with the Patriots before being traded to the Kansas City Chiefs. Uche then played the 2025 season with the Philadelphia Eagles before joining the Dolphins this season.

With that being said, there have been some rumblings about Uche's status moving forward with the team. He has spoken out about what he wants the future to look like.

Despite being a veteran player on a team clearly not contending this season, Uche would like to remain with Miami. He spoke out about his belief in first-year head coach Jeff Hafley and the direction of the organization.

"I think it starts with the head coach," Uche said when explaining his reasoning for wanting to stay with the Dolphins. "The energy he brings, no toxicity, it's just all football. All ball, all details, all discipline."

So far this season in his first year with Miami, Uche has played in six games. He has recorded 25 total tackles to go along with a sack, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery.

Throughout his entire seven-year NFL career thus far, Uche has played in 82 total games. He has racked up 134 total tackles, 22.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and a defended pass.

Whether or not Uche's preference to remain with the Dolphins will end up happening remains to be seen. The NFL trade deadline is coming up quickly on November 10.

Uche also has just one season remaining on his contract. Even if he isn't traded, a new deal will be needed for him to remain in Miami for the 2027 season and beyond.

Expect to hear more news and rumblings about the Dolphins' trade deadline plans in the near future. For now, Uche has made his preference clear to the team.
