The Miami Dolphins are bolstering their wide receiver room, landing former Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Tutu Atwell on a one-year deal.

The Miami Dolphins continue to bring in free agents, this time signing former Los Angeles Rams receiver Tutu Atwell to a one-year deal.

Atwell has played his entire five-season career with the Rams, and will now have a homecoming, as he was born in Miami, Florida.

Atwell was drafted by the Rams in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft out of Louisville.

Atwell had a quiet rookie season, as he suffered a shoulder injury that kept him out for nine games, and he was mostly used as a return specialist. After recording no catches or stats, he would bounce back in 2022.

Atwell appeared in 13 games and had four starts in 2022, securing 298 receiving yards and one touchdown. He also tacked on 34 rushing yards and one touchdown.

The minimal usage for Atwell was elevated in 2023, as he appeared in 16 games and started 14, bringing in 483 yards and three touchdowns, along with 31 rushing yards.

Following the 2023 season, Atwell had the best season of his career, bringing in 562 receiving yards, leading to a $10 million deal from the Rams.

Unfortunately, the 2025 season saw him miss a good amount of games due to a nagging hamstring injury. The Rams would also make him a healthy scratch for the tail end of the regular season and into the playoffs.

Now, Atwell gets a chance to rebound with the Dolphins, where he will line up alongside Jaylen Waddle. Miami may make him a WR2, but that remains to be seen.

Atwell is a speedster, similar to Waddle, and will pair well with quarterback Malik Willis, who could get the best out of the veteran pass catcher.

Atwell joins a litany of signings the Dolphins have made recently, bringing in linebacker Joshua Uche, secondary and special teamers Alex Austin and Zayne Anderson, tight end Ben Sims, and many more.

While the cap constraints have limited the Dolphins' front office from making splash signings, general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan is putting together a roster of low-cost and potentially high-reward players.

The Dolphins are set to start rebuilding through the draft, but the team continues to bring in players who could become impactful with a new destination.
