The Miami Dolphins and linebacker Jordyn Brooks have reached a deal on a three-year, $51.3 million extension.

At long last, the Miami Dolphins have made good on their promise of extending "pillar" linebacker Jordyn Brooks. After months of speculation, he is set to stay with the team for the foreseeable future.

Per multiple reports, Brooks and the Dolphins have agreed to a three-year, $51.3 million deal, with $35 million guaranteed.

At $17.1  million per season, this places Brooks in the top five highest-paid at the position.

Brooks established himself as a leader in the locker room, and a leader on the field. With his quiet nature often being the subject of questions, he chooses to speak volumes when playing football.

The Dolphins also expect that Brooks will continue being the leader on the defense, while also guiding young players, such as rookie linebacker Jacob Rodriguez.

The Miami veteran showed up after Rodriguez was drafted to call his fellow Texas Tech alum to speak about his journey and offer advice. Both have also received words from Hall of Famer Zach Thomas, who is also a former Red Raider.

Miami's defense is a unit that could be the saving grace for the team in 2026, and that starts with Brooks. At just 28 years old, he is now the reigning NFL leading tackler, having secured 183 in 2025.

Brooks added 3.5 sacks, showcasing why he received his first All-Pro nod. Oddly enough, he was not named to the Pro Bowl, but that is something that he may use as fuel to bolster his performance in 2026.

Either way, the Dolphins brass has not made good on their promise to extend their "pillars." It began with running back De'Von Achane, who received a four-year, $64 million contract extension in May.

Next was center Aaron Brewer, who signed a three-year, $52.5 million contract extension in early June.

Now, Brooks has joined that lot, ending the speculation and rumors that the Dolphins could have traded him to a linebacker-needy team. Despite the multitude of concerns regarding the roster, the Miami front office has ensured the future looks a bit brighter by locking in three of their most important players.
