Miami Dolphins quarterback Malik Willis offered some brutal honesty on his performance thus far this season.

Miami Dolphins quarterback Malik Willis has four games under his belt, and the passer understands that he needs to do more.

During media availability on Wednesday, Willis offered some brutal honesty on how he has performed through the first four games of the regular season.

Willis has seen some success on the field. The issue is that success has not translated to many touchdowns or wins.

Through four games, Willis has 712 yards, one touchdown, two interceptions, a 56.3 percent completion rate, and a 73.0 passer rating. He also has 112 rushing yards, one touchdown, and a 5.9 yards-per-carry average.

The lack of experience and chemistry in the receiving room is what most would say is holding back the Dolphins quarterback, but that is not an excuse that he likes to hear or use.

"Speaking and holding myself to the level of accountability I try to, it's not good enough. We don't have any wins yet. Obviously. We can't keep blaming stuff on us being young and everybody being new. That's not a factor once the season starts. Yeah, that's cool to say in the offseason, when we're building and growing," Willis said.

Willis is essentially saying that the team should not be creating excuses based on the inexperience that exists on the team. The quarterback himself had only six starts in the NFL thus far before joining Miami.

The signal caller also stated that he believes the team is getting better every week. That has been evident as the Dolphins held the high-powered Kansas City Chiefs scoreless in the third quarter of Week 3, and the team nearly beat the Minnesota Vikings in Week 4 with a final score of 15-10.

That had more to do with the defense, but this young team is starting to show that it is putting things together.

A glaring issue still remains with the offense. Granted, running back De'Von Achane is out for the season, and Willis' previous top target in rookie receiver Caleb Douglas also remains out. However, those are situational circumstances that should also not be used as a crutch.

Miami is young and inexperienced, but they are building a foundation that can be built upon. Several young players are getting valuable reps and are starting to show some signifcant growth.

Left tackle Kadyn Proctor, wide receiver Chris Bell, and linebacker Jacob Rodriguez are all emerging as players that can use the 2026 season to get better.

Willis simply needs to find his rhythm within the offense and with the weapons he currently has to use. Once the offense begins to take that next leap, this Dolphins team might actually pull off a win.

That might be difficult to do against a strong Cincinnati Bengals team on Sunday. However, the Bengals might be without their star wide receiver in Ja'Marr Chase.
