New Miami Dolphins offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik admits his offense will run similarly to Mike McDaniel's.

The Miami Dolphins promoted Bobby Slowik to offensive coordinator after he spent the 2025 season as a senior pass game coordinator.

Considering Slowik worked directly with former head coach Mike McDaniel, it would be believed that their styles would be similar. That appears to be the case, as Slowik revealed he will run a similar system.

The Dolphins brought in the new coordinators for their media sessions on Wednesday. and Slowik was asked if he will be running an offense like McDaniel's.

Per Travis Wingfield of miamidolphins.com, Slowik admitted that he will run a system like McDaniel's; however, it will also be dependent on the players available.

The bones are the same. The roots are the same. But all the trees grow different. A lot of that has to do with the players you have on your team, which changes so much year to year," Slowik said.

Slowik also indicated the core staple of the offense is to keep the defense off balance.

One of the best things the Dolphins have done over the past few seasons under McDaniel is play with a degree of speed that certainly did just that. Offenses often found it difficult to keep up with speedsters like wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, as well as running back De'Von Achane.

The issue is that the team could look far different offensively in 2026. The team may not have Hill, who is due a large contract and is a likely cut candidate.

That is not a guarantee, and Hill could find his way back to the team. There are other elements to think about as well.

Will the offensive line look the same?

Butch Barry joined the Los Angeles Chargers, reuniting with McDaniel. The Dolphins then brought in  Zach Yenser, the former assistant line coach for the Houston Texans.

Will Darren Waller return?

The Dolphins have not had the best tight end room, and Waller was often hurt in his 2025 return. Waller may choose to return, but he has indicated that he will take some time to decide that.

Who will be the starting quarterback?

Tua Tagovailoa was benched, and rookie Quinn Ewers only got three starts. New Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley indicated there will be competition at the position, but who will be competing for the job?

Miami has been tied to Malik Willis, but their cap situation may prove landing the rising potential starter very difficult.

With so many variables that could change things, Slowik's offense may have the "bones" of the McDaniel system, but it may not operate in the same vein at all when the roster is finalized.
