The Miami Dolphins could target LSU's Mansoor Delane, who ran an insane 40-yard dash.

The Miami Dolphins have been mocked to many players ahead of their No. 11 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. One such player is LSU cornerback Mansoor Delane.

Delane was named an All-American in 2025 as a member of LSU, securing 45 total tackles, two interceptions, and 11 passes defended. His speed was on full display during LSU's Pro Day, as his reported 40-yard dash was incredibly fast.

Delane is one of the highest-rated cornerbacks in college, per Pro Football Focus. His overall grade of 90.5 is ranked third, and his 90.7 coverage grade is ranked fourth.

On top of being one of the top-rated cornerbacks in college, Delane also posted an insanely fast 40-yard dash at LSU's Pro Day.

Per NFL insider Field Yates, an area scout clocked Delane at 4.38 seconds.

"From a scout in attendance: LSU’s Mansoor Delane just clocked back-to-back 4.38s in the 40.

Absolutely flying," Yates wrote on X.

On top of posting 4.38 seconds, Delane secured that time in back-to-back attempts. This figure will be on the radar for most teams as they look to bolster their secondary early on in the draft.

The Dolphins have a plethora of roster needs, which is especially true for the cornerback position. Neither Jack Jones nor Rasul Douglas has been given a deal to return, making the position very thin for Miami.

General manager Jon-Eric Sullivan may be biding his time to see how the draft boards pan out before bringing back a veteran, and he could be waiting to see if a talent like Delane falls to the Dolphins at No. 11 overall.

Miami is set to get younger and build through the draft, so bringing back Jones and Douglas would go against that. However, both veterans played some solid football, and there needs to be some experienced players there to guide the younger talent that is drafted.

Even if the Dolphins were to land Delane at No. 11 overall, Douglas would be the right kind of player to guide him in his rookie season.

Per Chad Rueter's latest mock draft, Delane goes one spot above at No. 10 overall to the Cincinnati Bengals, while the Dolphins land defensive end Rueben Bain Jr.

One spot could mean everything, especially if Miami is seeking to rebuild its secondary by starting off with one of the top talents in the draft. Then again, other teams may be taking note of Delane's sheer speed, and he could be leaping up draft boards with his strong pro day performance.
