Dolphins rule out Aaron Brewer, plus full inactives cover image

The Miami Dolphins have ruled out Aaron Brewer, plus multiple other players.

The Miami Dolphins unfortuantely have to end center Aaron Brewer's longtime streak of not missing a game. His neck injury was clearly significant enough that it has now resulted in him having to be rested.

With the Dolphins activating Andrew Meyer for the game, it is presumed that he will step in as the team's starting center.

There are multiple other players that have also been ruled out, including safety Minkah Fitzpatrick.

Wide receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine has been ruled out, along with linebacker Derrick McClendon and offensive lineman Kendall Lamm.

The Dolphins also made multiple practice squad elevations, which makes more sense considering the players that have been ruled out for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers game.

Theo Wease Jr. was activated once again, and he is likely replacing Westbrook-Ikhine. Josh Priebe was also elevated from the practice squad to presumably act as depth for the offensive line.

With Brewer and Lamm out, the Dolphins are ensuring they have depth pieces in place should injuries occur.

Miami did elevate McClendon, but that was likely as insurance for Tyrel Dodson potentially being ruled out. That wasnot the case, and McClendon has now been ruled as inactive.

Dodson appeared on the injury report with a chest injury, but was upgraded to a full participant on Friday. Despite a questionable status, he is suiting up against the Buccaneers.

Darren Waller, Jaylen Waddle, and Ifeatu Melifonwu also appeared on the injury report earlier in the week, but they do not have an injury status heading into the game.

The Dolphins are looking for a bounce-back win against the Buccaneers after they were dominated in Week 16 by the Cincinnati Bengals. Despite not being able to compete for a playoff position, the team can now test their younger players in these final weeks.

Rookie Quinn Ewers will get his second start, and it is believed he will finish the regular season as the team's starting quarterback.

The hope for the Dolphins is that Ewers shows something that the team can work with in 2026. The quarterback situation took a dramatic turn with Tua Tagovailoa being benched, and Miami will now see if the young rookie can be their quarterback for the future.
