The Miami Dolphins have selected Alabama offensive lineman Kadyn Proctor with the No. 12 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

The new era of Miami Dolphins football has officially begun with new general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan and head coach Jeff Hafley getting in their first pick of the 2026 NFL Draft.

At No. 12 overall, the Dolphins have officially selected Alabama offensive lineman Kadyn Proctor. Miami pulled off a trade with the Dallas Cowboys, moving down one spot and acquiring picks No. 177 and 180.

Through multiple mock drafts and predictions, the Dolphins were attached to LSU cornerback Mansoor Delane, Miami tackle Francis Mauigoa, Ohio State safety Caleb Downs and more. However, it is Proctor that has officially been selected by Miami.

Selecting Proctor at No. 12 is a shocker considering Miami Hurricanes edge was there. However, the Dolphins are ensuring they begin their rebuild by not only addressing the line in a big way, but also ensuring they protect Malik Willis in 2026.

Proctor is a massive lineman, coming in at 6-foot-6 and weighing 358 pounds. He has the ability to come at edge rushers and stop them in their tracks. His size and frame also do not hamper his ability to move, which is good for running back De'Von Achane.

Despite being large, Proctor looks to finish his blocking assignment and has the motor to do just that. He will need to clean up his technique a bit, but that can come through training camp and preseason.

Interestingly, the Dolphins will either use Proctor in the right tackle position, which is inhabited by Austin Jackson, or they make him the rookie inside to one of the guard positions.

Jackson has struggled to stay on the field, and the Dolphins may have had enough of his missed games that they drafted a tackle that can step in and potentially start immediately. Proctor might also work as a swing tackle under Paul on the left side or Jackson on the right, and not be an immediate starter.

Either way, this is an interesting pick for the Dolphins, and time will tell if the pick works out for them.
