The Miami Dolphins are set to host USC's Makai Lemon as part of his Top 30 visits.
The Miami Dolphins have a ton of roster holes to fill, with one major one being the wide receiver position. After trading Jaylen Waddle to the Denver Broncos, the team is deep need of a replacement.
That said, the Dolphins do have a chance to draft one of the top pass catchers at No. 11 overall, and they are set to host one of those prospects. USC's Makai Lemon will be meeting with Miami as part of the pre-draft visits.
Lemon has been moving up and down mock drafts in the first round, but there is a chance that he remains there at No. 11 overall. If he is there and the Dolphins take a swing at him, they could end up landing the best receiver in the draft.
Lemon finished his collegiate career with 2008 yards and 21 touchdowns, with a 14.7 yards per reception average. His best season was in 2025, when he secured 1,156 yards and nine touchdowns.
Lemon is 5-foot-11 and 192 pounds. While he is a smaller receiver, he is one of the best route runners in college, hence his placement moving up and down in the first round.
The Dolphins do need big bodies, but they wouldn't be going the wrong direction by taking Lemon at No. 11. He could be the solid route runner the team needs to draw looks off of Jalen Tolbert and Tutu Atwell.
As much as the big body receivers that excel in contested catches are needed, having crisp route runners matters a great deal as well. Waddle was of the route-running variety, and he has now joined the Broncos, with Lemon potentially being that replacement.
Malik Willis can gun the ball downfield and is very accurate. Having receivers who can get to the ball quickly will benefit his throwing style. A drawback for Lemon is jumping the gun a little too much and overshooting his routes. He can clean that up through training camp and preseason.
The Dolphins have a ton of roster holes to fill and whatever position they take at No. 11 won't be looked down on, unless it's quarterback Ty Simpson. While there is a chance they take him, it would likely not happen until the second round.
Should general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan and the front office take Lemon at No. 11, he could be a player who will be ready to take a substantial position during Week 1.
