The Miami Dolphins have added former Los Angeles Chargers offensive lineman Jamaree Sayler.

The Miami Dolphins have been very busy in free agency, despite having some big cap constraints. Most of the roster has been filled out with low-cost, potential high-reward signings.

Now, the team has added a potential starter in former Los Angeles Chargers offensive lineman Jamaree Sayler. Sayler has experience across the line, getting snaps at left tackle, right guard, and right tackle.

Considering the Dolphins have a need at guard, this could be the first player added that could be considered a starter. Cole Strange left for the Chargers, which is likely why Sayler was available.

There are also the struggles that Jonah Savaiinaea had at left guard in his rookie season. To be fair, it can take rookies some time to get acclimated and the Dolphins threw Savaiinaea into the proverbial fire.

This does not mean that Savaiinaea will not elevate his abilities and be far better in 2026, but his struggles will likely lead to far more competition on the line.

Miami also has the No. 11 overall pick in the draft, and could still pick Vega Ioane or Francis Mauigoa.

Either way, the Dolphins have made their first significant offensive line addition with Sayler.

In addition to Strange exiting the team, Larry Borom also joined the Detroit Lions. The good news is that the rest of the Dolphins' line is solid.

Patrick Paul at left tackle, Protector of the Year nominee Aaron Brewer at center, and Austin Jackson at right tackle give the Dolphns a solid unit. This also depends on whether or not Jackson can stay healthy.

Jackson missed a lot of the regular season due to a significant toe injury. When on the field, he is fantastic; the issue is that his injury history has plagued his past two seasons.

General manager Jon-Eric Sullivan and head coach Jeff Hafley continue to preach competition at every position, and the addition of Sayler is just that. If he can carve out a role for himself as a starter, it may push the other struggling lineman to elevate their game.

With Malik Willis being the presumed starter for the 2026 season, the Dolphins will need to protect him. The line must be solid, and adding Sayler is a step in the right direction.

Expect more additions on the line, whether that be one of those potential first-round selections or the Dolphins rounding out more players as free agency rolls on.
