The Miami Dolphins are continuing their free agent haul, this time bringing in former Atlanta Falcons linebacker Ronnie Harrison.

The Miami Dolphins are not waiting for the draft to bring in more defensive talent, as the team is set to sign former Atlanta Falcons linebacker Ronnie Harrison.

NFL insider Adam Schefter reported the signing on X.

Harrison spent a good amount of his career as a defensive back and strong safety. Initially, he was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft out of Alabama.

After spending two seasons with the Jaguars, where he picked up three interceptions, three sacks, and 103 total tackles, he was traded to the Cleveland Browns.

Harrison spent the next three seasons with the Browns, where he secured two interceptions, 2.5 sacks, and 120 total tackles.

After multiple seasons as a defensive back, Harrison joined the Indianapolis Colts in 2023, where it was revealed his position was being changed to linebacker.

Harrison played in 17 games in both seasons he played for the Colts, picking up two interceptions, one sack, and 22 total tackles. His 2025 season with the Falcons was similar, as he appeared in 10 games and started four, picking up two sacks and 29 total tackles.

Now, the Dolphins are bringing Harrison in on a one-year deal to bolster the linebacker corps. It will be interesting to see if the team plans to keep him at linebacker or potentially move him into a defensive back position.

Harrison joins the Miami team in a flurry of low-cost free agency moves that general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan has engaged in this offseason. While many of these players may or may not work out, the team is patchworking the roster due to cap constraints.

There is set to be a major influx of younger talent via the draft, and Sullivan has been preaching rebuilding in that manner. That is exactly what has happened with the multiple roster cuts, as the Dolphins have shed their larger contracts to prepare for a better 2027.

Harrison could certainly make an impact, as could many of the other signings, but time will tell if any of these players will make it past the final roster cuts.
