The Miami Dolphins have been included in a trade idea that would see linebacker Jordyn Brooks traded to an AFC opponent.

The Miami Dolphins are currently in a rebuilding phase. With a new head coach, a new general manager, a new quarterback, and many other new parts of the franchise, a lot of change could still be coming.

All offseason long, the Dolphins have seen linebacker Jordyn Brooks talked about in trade speculation. That has not slowed down despite the quiet part of the offseason arriving.

In a new trade suggestion, Miami was urged to consider moving Brooks to the Cincinnati Bengals.

Bleacher Report's Gary Davenport has suggested a trade between the Dolphins and Bengals that would send Brooks to Cincinnati. In return, Miami would receive a 2027 second-round pick and a 2028 fourth-round selection.

Not long ago, new general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan made it clear that he views Brooks as a long-term piece of the puzzle for the Dolphins.

"He's a very good player," Sullivan said. "He's made of the right kind of stuff. And we'd like him to be a pillar on the defensive side of the ball for us as we build this out."

Brooks was also asked about his future in Miami. He remained noncommittal about what he expected for his future.

"I don't know," he said. "It could go either way, obviously. I'm just controlling what I can control—play football. I'm blessed to do it. So, I'm just going to keep approaching it that way."

Brooks is coming off of an impressive 2025 season for the Dolphins. He played in 17 games, racking up 183 total tackles to go along with 3.5 sacks, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and three defended passes.

At 28 years old, Brooks still has a lot of good football left to be played. Whether that future comes in Miami or somewhere else remains to be seen.

Being able to get a second-round pick and a fourth-round pick would be an excellent trade return. If the Bengals came calling with that offer, the Dolphins would have a hard time turning it down.

Expect to hear more speculation about Brooks' future throughout the remainder of this offseason and heading towards the 2026 NFL trade deadline.
