The Miami Dolphins have been uncursed by WWE superstar Danhausen.
One of the most popular gimmicks in wrestling history took the world by storm when WWE superstar Danhausen used his trademark to "curse" the New York Knicks. After losing a couple of games, he uncursed the team, which led to a championship. Now, it appears the wrestler was tapped to use his supposed magic on the Miami Dolphins.
Per a video that is circulating online, Danhausen was tasked with uncursing the Dolphins, which appears to be from a Cameo video. In the video, the wrestler not only uncurses the team, but adds in Dan Marino as well.
Marino may not have been the cursed one in all of this, as he remains one of the best quarterbacks among fans and pundits, but the Dolphins have certainly had their string of bad luck.
The last time Miami won a playoff game was back in the year 2000. In a thrilling AFC Wild Card game, the Dolphins took down the Indianapolis Colts with a final score of 23-17.
Jay Fielder was behind center while the legend Dan Wannstedt was the main man in charge. Following that season, the organization slipped into decades of mediocrity.
Granted, there is the 2008 season as well. Chad Pennington put together a big season to help lead the team to its first AFC East title win since the 2000 season, but a big reason for that was also because New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady had torn his ACL, which put a big roadblock in their nearly 20-year dynasty.
Wannstedt would lead the Dolphins to back-to-back playoff appearances in 2000 and 2001. The 2008 season would come and go, and it would be another eight years before 2016, when Miami once again returned to the postseason.
Unfortunately for Adam Gase and his team, they would be handily beaten by the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Then, there were the back-to-back seasons for Mike McDaniel and what was a team stacked with playmakers. In 2022, the Dolphins eked into the playoffs with a 9-8 record, but the loss of Tua Tagovailoa and a cold-weather game in Buffalo led to a 34-31 loss.
Backup quarterback Skylar Thompson nearly led the team to defeat the Bills, but they fell short. In 2023, with a fully healthy Tagovailoa, Miami would lose in another cold game to the Kansas City Chiefs.
The 2024 and 2025 seasons led to playoff misses, and ultimately cost McDaniel his job. Now, it is Jeff Hafley who is leading this new era of Dolphins football.
Whether or not he believes in the curses of Danhausen, the fan-favorite wrestler may have just done him a big favor.
