A look at where the Miami Dolphins currently sit in the national power rankings.

The Miami Dolphins were on a bye in Week 6, so there was no game to win or lose. However, there were teams that were treading the bottom of the power rankings that may have improved their own statuses.

Considering the Dolphins have not lost this past week, it stands to reason they may not have remained at the bottom of the rankings.

Yahoo! Sports - No. 32

Yahoo! Sports still has Miami at the bottom with no change, despite the Los Angeles Chargers having a worse record.

The idea posted in this ranking stipulates that the Tennessee Titans winning pushes the Dolphins near the top pick, which opens up a ton of possibilities for the team. Getting a quarterback, trading down for a wealth of picks, and more.

People may believe the Miami organization is tanking, but that may not be the case at all.

ESPN - No. 32

Similar to Yahoo! Sports, ESPN sees no change for the bottom-dwelling Dolphins. Despite having a strong run game, the passing game under Malik Willis has left a lot to be desired.

Willis will get back his top target in Caleb Douglas this week, but there is no guarantee that Douglas will be the one to save the passing game. There needs to be a better plan and separation for the ailing passing attack to work even remotely.

NFL.com - No. 31

NFL.com's Nick Shook actually has the Dolphins falling two places from No. 29 down to No. 31. That may have a lot to do with the Titans' wins and more.

That said, a week of rest could be what this Miami team needs to notch their first win. It could be against the rival New York Jets, which would be a poetic way to get a victory.

The Athletic - No. 31

There is no change this week for The Athletic, which sees the Dolphins near the bottom. Granted, the Chargers are much worse currently.

Douglas is mentioned again, but it all depends on whether he can play fully. If he can return and have an immediate impact, maybe the tide can turn for the offense.

The Verdict

Nobody sees the Dolphins as having improved during the bye week for obvious reasons. However, there is an inkling that the team may be inching closer to their first victory in 2026.

With a renewed energy and getting some players back, that could be what happens in Week 7.
