Dolphins' Zach Sieler Doubles Down on Feelings on Trade Rumors

Miami Dolphins defensive lineman Zach Sieler spoke to the media after the team's first win and doubled down on not wanting to be traded.

The Miami Dolphins pulled off a huge win against the New York Jets, and a big reason for that was due to the efforts of defensive leader Zach Sieler. Sieler picked up five total tackles and one tackle for loss in the victory.

Sieler spoke to the media after the win and doubled down on not wanting to be traded. With the Nov. 10 deadline approaching, the Dolphins will need to make a decision on keeping the veteran, as he has once again been the subject of trade rumors.

Sieler has been integral to the Miami organziation since he arrived in 2019.

The defensive lineman has become a force and leader in the locker room, and his efforts led to a three-year, $64 million contract extension in 2025. However, that contract was signed before Jon-Eric Sullivan took over as general manager.

Most of the bloated contracts for the team have been done away with, and only three veterans have received new deals. Sullivan said the idea was to get "younger and cheaper," and that is what they have done thus far.

Sieler is 31 years old and his contract could be a main reason that Sullivan might consider trading him. However, moving him would bring a hefty $24.7 million dead cap hit.

Regardless, Sieler sees the potential of what Sullivan and head coach Jeff Hafley are building, and he wants to remain with the Dolphins.

"We all know that's out of my control, and I love this team. I've been here for eight years now, seven years now and I just love playing here. I think Half and Sully are amazing guys. They did an amazing job building this team this season. I'm excited to see where it goes, and I do hope I'm here with these guys and to keep growing and learning and being a Dolphin," Sieler said.

There was a bit of an update on the situation from Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald. According to Seiler's agent Drew Rosenhaus, no conversations have taken place about the Dolphins moving the defensive lineman or a team calling about him as well.

That can change in the coming days, as teams look to bolster their rosters for a mid-season push.

Sieler is a very strong defender and one that multiple teams might heavily consider trading for.

Sullivan also spoke during the offseason about trading players. The gist of his feelings on the matter is that everyone is tradable at a price.

If a team can and offers the Dolphins a first-round pick for Sieler, it would be very difficult to say no. However, he should be, and is likely considered to be, a pillar that the team does not want to move past.

Running back De'Von Achane, center Aaron Brewer, and linebacker Jordyn Brooks were labeled as pillars, and all three received contracts. Sieler should be considered one of those players and may already be by Sullivan and Hafley.
