Former Miami Dolphins linebacker Bradley Chubb spoke out about being released by the team, offering a classy message to fans and the organization.

The Miami Dolphins designated linebacker Bradley Chubb as a post-June 1 release, which was expected due to his large contract. Considering the rebuild, the Pro Bowl pass rusher was unfortunately always going to be a cap casualty.

Worse for Dolphins fans and the organization, Chubb joined the Buffalo Bills moments after it was announced he would be released. Despite joining a rival in what could be seen as a move made for personal reasons, the former Miami linebacker quelled those concerns in a classy message to fans and the organization.

Chubb joined the Dolphins in 2022, when he was traded by the Denver Broncos for Chase Edmonds, a 2023 first-round pick, and a 2024 fourth-round pick.

Chubb would go on to secure 22 sacks, nine forced fumbles, and 133 total tackles as a member of the Dolphins. This included leading the league with six forced fumbles in 2023.

Unfortunately, Chubb would tear his ACL in the second-to-last game of the 2023 regular season, leading to his missing the 2024 season entirely. In 2025, he finished the season with 8.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and 73 total tackles.

Now, with Chubb joining the Dolphins' biggest rival, he explained that his joining the Bills was not "personal" and also offered a classy message to the fans and the organization on "The Set with Terron Armstead."

"It's not personal at all. I'm not going up there to spike Miami; it was just the best opportunity presented to me. I mentioned to them, man, I love y'all, you took me in when I had a lot of hate in my heart, and I had a lot of frustration going to a new city, y'all welcomed me in. Unfortunately, we couldn't get over that 25-year hump of not winning a playoff game, but we damn sure tried. We had the guys in the locker room who gave it all each and every day. I was one of them ... unfortunately, it didn't work out. But its not the end of my career. I got three years in Buffalo, I could finish it out with the Dolphins. I'm not trying to burn no bridges, it's love," Chubb said.

It is a very classy thing for Chubb to address fans and let them know that his choosing of Buffalo was not with the intention that he could get back at the Dolphins for releasing him. He also made it a point to state that he could very well return to Miami if the opportunity presents itself.

To his credit, Chubb had the opportunity to join a contender, which is what most aging players should do when they have spent a good number of years in the NFL. Winning a Super Bowl is the end goal, and the linebacker now has a chance to do so.

The Dolphins are in a full rebuild and are unlikely to contend in 2026. Keeping Chubb would have ultimately wasted a year or so of his career, so he joined a squad where he can flourish and potentially win a ring.

Granted, Dolphins fans are going to be upset if he gets loose and sacks Malik Willis, but that is the nature of football. Sometimes players join rival teams.

Chubb will certainly be missed, and this Dolphins team is being rebuilt in a major way. Whether or not they can return to the playoffs remains to be seen, but the former linebacker has a strong chance of doing so sooner rather than later.
