Former Miami Dolphins and UFL receiver Erik Ezukanma has landed with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Former Miami Dolphins and UFL wide receiver Erik Ezukanma has landed a deal with the Philadelphia Eagles. After spending a season with the United Football League, he is back in the NFL.

Ezukanma is a former fourth-round pick for Miami, as the team drafted him out of Texas Tech in 2022. While in college, he secured 2,165 yards and 15 touchdowns.

Following his being drafted by the Dolphins, he would make his rookie debut in Week 18, catching one pass for three yards.

Ezukanma struggled mightily in his first stretch in the NFL, as the 2023 season saw him miss majority of the season due to a neck injury. He only appeared in two games during that time.

In 2024, Ezukanma also appeared in two games. After his release by the Dolphins in 2024, he joined the Jacksonville Jaguars' practice squad.

In 2026, Ezukanma joined the DC Defenders. In the UFL, he brought in 227 yards on 15 receptions, and ran the ball for 79 yards, while also securing 25.5 yards per kickoff return.

Though there may not be a clear cut way for Ezukanma to climb the depth chart for the Eagles, he could be brought in to serve as a special teams option, especially with his prowess being showcased in kickoff returns.

Dolphins Also Add UFL Standout

Most teams are likely to bring in players ahead of training camp and during, as teams will try to infuse competition into their rosters for the push into the regular season. The Dolphins are also among those teams, as they have brought in a former UFL standout.

Miami added UFL safety Major Burns, and his addition makes sense considering the secondary for the team is one of the bigger warning signs ahead of the regular season.

Despite Dante Trader Jr. showing some strong skills in OTAs and minicamp, true evaluation will not being until the pads come on.

Adding players might also continue for the Dolphins simply due to general Jon-Eric Sullivan continuing his trend of adding low-cost and potential reclamation projects in veteran players.

Either way, Miami is doing its due diligence, as are the Eagles for bringing in Ezukanma, who may or may not be ready to get back to a substantial role in the NFL.
