Former Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill may not return in 2026 due to one unfortunate aspect of his injury recovery.

Former Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill suffered a gruesome injury during the 2025 season, which saw him dislocate his knee, tear multiple ligaments, and his ACL. He has since undergone two surgeries on the leg and is working his way back to football.

Unfortunately, the recovery time may be a bit longer than Hill expected. In a new revealing workout video, he offered a candid update on his recovery, revealing he has "no power" in the leg that was injured.

Hill initially admits that his timeline is "looking real good," while also stating doctors warned him of not being able to walk again or possibly play football.

"Doctors said I may never walk again. They said, 'We are not sure about your future.' Now, look at me," Hill said.

Hill is seen doing jumps in and out of the pool, including doing moves with a resistance band while shuffling from side to side.

"So, it's about 10 months after doing two surgeries. The left leg is the one that I injured. I have no power in my left leg at all, so I am trying to regain all the power back in my left leg. But it's one day at a time," Hill said.

The former Dolphins receiver also indicated the "timeline is looking good," but he did not reveal how long it would be before he gets power back in his leg to play football again. It is believed that he may not play again until the 2027 season.

Despite being released by the Miami front office, the organization and Hill have remained on good terms, and he has been shown at the facility during his recovery. Though the Dolphins' roster is getting younger and cheaper, it would not be shocking if he returned to the team in some capacity.

As a member of the Dolphins, Hill set career highs in yardage with 1,799 in 2023 and a 112.4 yards per game average the same season. When he was paired with Tua Tagovailoa at their height, they were dangerous.

Hill could now have the possibility to play with Malik Willis, assuming the receiver plays again soon, and if the Dolphins organization brings him back.

Hill remains a free agent, and not having signed with anyone is clearly due to his injury likely knocking him out for the 2026 season, or most of it. However, if he returns healthy in 2027, expect multiple teams to call.

Hill remains one of the fastest players in the league, but there is no telling what his injury has done overall. If he can return to his former self, he would still likely be one of the top pass catchers in the NFL.

The 2027 season is also when Miami will have a far better cap situation due to cleaning house, so the front office may be more open to bringing in a veteran like Hill, who has meant a great deal to the fanbase and organization.
