Miami Dolphins tight end Greg Dulcich was honest about how Malik Willis has been showing his leadership through practice thus far.

The Miami Dolphins are putting a lot of faith in quarterback Malik Willis, as he became the only big free agent signing that general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan pulled off. After signing the passer to a three-year, $67.5 million deal, the organization has continued to praise the signal caller.

Both Sullivan and head coach Jeff Hafley have spoken highly of Willis, but now he has received even more praise from fellow teammate and tight end Greg Dulcich. Dulcich's comments on the quarterback prove even more the faith that the Dolphins have in him.

During an appearance on "Dolphins HQ," Dulcich got into the sheer leadership that Willis has been showing in the offseason.

"We're kind of out there in workouts. He gets the group together. He gets us fired up. Um, and yeah, like you said, great uh lead by example guy as well. I mean, he's, you know, coming in on extra days and getting the guys together to throw and do extra work. And that's the kind of guy that you want to look at and be like, shoot, you know, he's he's leading the right way. Um, and that's that's a good person to just kind of, you know, follow his example," Dulcich said.

What Dulcich is alluding to is the sentiment that Willis has been garnering through the offseason program thus far. Multiple coaches have spoken highly about his work ethic and attention to detail. The former Green Bay Packers quarterback may have been a backup in 2025, but he is seemingly already impressing the team with his team-first mentality.

During the rookie mini camp earlier in May, Willis showed up to greet the incoming rookie class, getting to know the players he will soon share the field with.

Multiple coaches also spoke highly of the passer during their media availability. Quarterback coach Bush Hamdan said Willis is always "the first in the building."

"I just feel he's always the first one in the building, you know, the last one to leave. I think certainly already in the community, he's normally the one pushing you know, to do the right thing," Hamdan said.

Offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik also spoke on Willis' energy, which lines up with Dulcich's comments as well.

"He's really energetic. He infuses everybody with a lot of energy, just makes you want to kind of be involved in whatever he's doing, and he's been fun to coach," Slowik said.

There was a lot of talk regarding the deal that Willis got, due to his only having six NFL starts, but it appears that he is ready to show the NFL world what he is capable of. The young quarterback spoke openly about getting the chance to start for the Dolphins during his introductory presser in March.

Offering some honest remarks on his career thus far, Willis admitted he was "not ready" when he came into the league, but now he is.

Willis has a tall task ahead of him, as he must now command a team that has practically blown up its roster for a better future. With a host of low-cost free agents, there is now a lot of belief that the Dolphins will be competitive in 2026.

Should Willis prove that theory wrong and lead the team to many wins this season, it will show that the belief he has been saddled with was right all along.
