The Miami Dolphins roster has a ton of question marks entering the season, especially at this one particular position group.

The Miami Dolphins enter the 2026 season with one of the more flawed rosters in the league, and it’s not by accident.

With a new regime at the helm, the Dolphins tore down the team and are building from the ground up.  It will take a few seasons for the Dolphins to build a contender, and that’s only if they do it right.

Nonetheless, the Dolphins have a ton of holes on their roster as the season slowly approaches. However, one glaring issue they must address is the wide receiver group.

According to Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report, the Dolphins' biggest need this offseason is adding a veteran wide receiver.

"The Miami Dolphins largely spent the offseason tearing down the roster in order to lay the foundation for a rebuild. Among the list of veterans who were jettisoned were wideouts Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. While Miami did add Caleb Douglas and Chris Bell in Round 3, its receiver room lacks veteran talent.

"If the Dolphins want to get an accurate read on what kind of quarterback Malik Willis can be for the franchise, it would behoove them to add a free-agent receiver like Stefon Diggs, Keenan Allen, Deebo Samuel, or DeAndre Hopkins."

The Dolphins added some help in that department via the draft, selecting Caleb Douglas and Chris Bell in the third round. However, it’s unlikely one of them, let alone both, will make a great impact right out of the gate.

Adding a veteran wide receiver won’t solve all of the Dolphins' issues, but it’ll help bolster their offense. As Knox pointed out, there are plenty of routes Miami could go. The receivers Knox mentioned are Stefon Diggs, Keenan Allen, Deebo Samuel and DeAndre Hopkins.

Of the four, the best fit may be Allen, not because he is the best player, but because he gives the Dolphins exactly what they need, like professionalism, stability, and a quarterback-friendly reliability.

If Miami’s goal this season is to get Willis help and develop him while stabilizing a young offense, then Allen is likely the player they should pursue. However, another option that could fit exceptionally well alongside is Samuel.

As I mentioned in a recent piece, Samuel is still a productive receiver at the ripe age of 31. He would be of great help to the Dolphins due to his tremendous catch-and-run ability that would fit perfectly with Willis.

The Dolphins have options to choose from, but it ultimately comes down to finding the right fit that complements both the roster and what the organization is trying to build moving forward.
