Former Miami Dolphins star wide receiver Tyreek Hill receives a gloomy update on whether or not he'll play in the 2026 season.

Former Miami Dolphins star wide receiver Tyreek Hill received a gloomy update on his 2026 playing status.

NFL insider James Palmer appeared on the Up & Adams Show and said there is a chance Hill doesn’t play this fall.

“With Tyreek, there are still a lot of unknowns, whether he plays in ’26 at all,” Palmer said. “I think that thought is still out there, so finding a landing spot for him is pretty difficult because so many teams don't know where he's at with such a massive injury.

“There’s still a chance that Tyreek Hill doesn’t play in 2026.”

Hill suffered a devastating left knee dislocation and tore multiple ligaments, including his ACL, in Week 4 of the 2025 season. The 32-year-old is still recovering from the injury, and there is still no timeline for a potential return.

At best, Hill is expected to miss at least the first eight weeks of the season. But because of his unclear timeline and the possibility that he misses half the season, teams, especially contenders, may be hesitant to sign the former All-Pro.

While Hill is still making progress, reports indicate that he is still facing a long road to recovery, and there is a chance that he requires additional surgical procedures.

After he suffered the injury in September, Hill was blunt on his future in the league.

"At the end of the day, I feel like that decision is based upon how I feel and where my mindset is at the moment," Hill said. "I'm happy with the career that I've had. I love playing football. I love it, but it takes a lot. It takes a lot on you mentally, it takes a lot on you physically.

"I'm at the point now where I need to have a conversation with mom, family, everybody. Wherever my mind is at the time, the decision will be made, but I know right now, I haven't had time to live in the moment."

In early May, there was a report that suggested that Hill was generating almost zero buzz around the league.

Before the injury last season, Hill recoerded 21 receptions on 29 targets for 265 yards, one touchdown and a catch percentage of 66.3 percent and averaged 12.6 yards per reception.

Hill’s time with the Dolphins was one to behold. In 54 games, the eight-time Pro Bowler recorded 340 receptions for 4,733 yards, 27 touchdowns and averaged 13.9 yards per reception. He’s built a Hall of Fame-type career thus far, being named a five-time All-Pro, one-time Super Bowl champion and a member of the Hall of Fame All-2010s team.
