Tyreek Hill recently posted on social media that he is training at the Miami Dolphins facility, but does it mean anything?
The Miami Dolphins released Tyreek Hill as part of their major roster overhaul and cap-cutting moves. While the release was expected due to the contract, Hill has remained at the facility.
Hill posted on Snapchat that he was at the Dolphins facility taking in training and likely still rehabbing from the injury that ended his 2025 season. Though it is not uncommon for players to train at team facilities in the offseason, the receiver reamining in Miami could be some good news.
One reason for the Dolphins' facility being opened to Hill could simply be a night gesture from the organization. Regardless of being released by the team, the All-Pro pass catcher was fantastic when playing in South Florida.
Hill set career highs in yardage, touchdowns, and yards per game with the Dolphins. In the 2023 season, he secured 1,799 yards, 13 touchdowns, and a 112.4 yards per game average, all of which led the league.
When Tua Tagovailoa and Hill were at the height of their chemistry, they became one of the most dangerous quarterback/receiver duos in the league. Unfortunately, injuries and inconsistent play led Tagovailoa to experience a steep regression.
Another reason that Hill is using the Dolphins' facilities might be due to his still living in the area. The image showcases crutches leaning against a window, pointing to the playmaker still rehabbing his injuries.
In Week 4 of the 2025 season, Hill suffered a brutal season-ending injury, which saw him suffer a dislocated knee and multiple torn ligaments, including the ACL. He remains a free agent due to the injuries suffered and potentially not being able to play in 2026.
That is not a guarantee, as Hill could be healed up enough to play at some point later in the 2026 season. Recovering from ACL injuries often takes a year or more to recover from, but the knee dislocation and ligament damage may lead to more time for him.
The final reason that Hill might also be at the Dolphins' facilities is to foster a relationship with the new regime.
Just because Hill was released, that does not mean he cannot be re-signed on a new deal. He is now a completely unrestricted free agent due to his release and can sign with any team he chooses.
It would be a wild story for Hill to return to the Dolphins at some point in 2026 or later. While that is unlikely, it is not out of the realm of possibility.
Hill may have had some controversies and injuries while with the Dolphins, but he was a tone setter for the offense and the team. General manager Jon-Eric Sullivan and Jeff Hafley may like what they see and want to keep him close in case of a grand return.
This is just speculation, but Hill coming back would be a major boost to the wide receiver room, even if he is coming off multiple major injuries.
