With the Miami Dolphins bringing in 10 undrafted free agents, here are three who may have a legitimate chance to make the roster.
The chances that an undrafted free agent makes the 53-man roster is always a long shot, but there is also a chance to make the practice squad and work their way up into a more substantial role. That said, the Miami Dolphins brought in 10 UDFAs, following their 13-man draft.
With a host of players to evaluate, the UDFAs will now have a chance to show what they can do alongside the drafted rookies. With training camp and the offseason program ahead, here are three undrafted free agents who may make the roster.
3. Mark Gronowski, QB, Iowa
There is no chance that Iowa quarterback Mark Gronowski will work his way into a backup role, but he could be the right kind of passer to join the practice squad as a depth piece.
Gronowski spent three seasons with South Dakota State, securing 10,308 yards, 93 touchdowns, and 20 interceptions. He also rushed for 1,767 yards and 37 touchdowns. With a strong arm and the ability to read defenses well, he can work his way quickly from a practice squad role into a backup with some years of experience.
2. Rene Konga, DT, Lousiville
The Dolphins need some stronger depth behind Zach Sieler and Jordan Phillips. With Kenneth Grant and Zeek Biggers not having emerged in a hugely substantial way just yet, there is nothing wrong with bringing in some younger competition in the form of Louisville defensive tackle Rene Konga.
Konga began to emerge as a solid defensive tackle when he joined Louisville in 2024. Through two seasons, he brought in 49 tackles, eight tackles for loss, and four sacks. He has a high motor and strong hands, and can also get in and jostle the ball, as he had six batted passes.
Konga will need to refine his closing speed, but he can be excellent in the run game.
1. Mason Reiger, DE, Wisconsin
Even with the Dolphins bringing in Trey Moore and Max Llewelyn, more is needed than just Chop Robinson, Josh Uche, and David Ojabo. The pass rush department has needed an overhaul since Miami traded Jaelan Phillips and released Bradley Chubb, who has now joined the Buffalo Bills.
Enter Wisconsin defensive end, Mason Reiger. Reiger has had some injury issues with his leg, needing multiple surgeries, but he appears to be ready to go. He brought in 10 sacks in 2023 and 2025, but missed 2024 due to his injury.
Reiger has the ability to pop and win in pass rush situations and become a strong talent once he refines his tackling skills. With the need for more pass rush, he could find himself in a rotational role with the Dolphins.
