A look at three players the Miami Dolphins should bring back ahead of free agency.

The tampering period of free agency is hours away, as March 9 at 12 pm EST is when teams can start making deals. The official league year begins on March 11, and the Miami Dolphins might not be a very busy team.

Due to a lack of cap space and a full reset, general manager Jon Eric-Sullivan has been releasing players as opposed to signing anyone. This does not mean that Miami cannot bring back some of its own roster, which they should.

Again, the lack of money might make things very difficult for the Dolphins, but there are three players they should consider re-signing.

Rasul Douglas

Rasul Douglas is a longtime veteran who has spent time with the Philadelphia Eagles, Green Bay Packers, Carolina Panthers, Buffalo Bills, and the Dolphins.

After an up-and-down journey, Douglas had a breakout season in South Florida.

Douglas ended the season with two interceptions, 13 passes defended, one forced fumble, one sack, and 62 total tackles. He also gave up a 54.5 completion percentage and 73.0 passer rating to opposing quarterbacks.

With a 72.7 overall grade, he was also ranked 21st out of 114 qualified cornerbacks on PFF.

Considering his value as a huge veteran player, including an ascention in his play in 2025, the Dolphins should highly consider re-signing him. Spotrac has Douglas earning a one-year deal at a little over $4 million. If Miami can swing it, he should be at the top of their free agency list.

Greg Dulcich

There is a strong chance that Darren Waller will not return to the Dolphins, leaving the tight end room thin. Greg Dulcich showcased some good skills in his opportunities as a pass catcher, and he could be brought back on a two-year, $3 million type of deal.

Dulcich ended the season with 335 yards and one touchdown. He is also 26 years old and the kind of young upstart player that Sullivan has been preaching about.

If the Dolphins can bring him back on a minor deal, he would be the clear favorite to be TE1.

Riley Patterson

The Dolphins already cut Jason Sanders to save on their cap, and that cut could lead to the team bringing back Riley Patterson.

Patterson was signed as Sanders' replacement while he dealt with a hip injury, and he filled in quite well.

Patterson not only secured a 93.1 kicking accuracy percentage, but he also broke the Dolphins franchise record previously set by Sanders.

Patterson was a perfect 11-for-11 on kicks in the 40-49 yard range, and three-for-four on kicks 50+. It would be shocking if the Dolphins do not bring him back.
