A.J. Brown didn't talk to the media after the Philadelphia Eagles lost to the San Francisco 49ers in the Wild Card round of the 2026 NFL playoffs.
During the game, Brown and Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni got into a heated sideline exchange.
Brown finished the Eagles-49ers game with three catches for 25 yards on seven targets. Philadelphia fans booed him after his second drop in the fourth quarter and the Pro Bowler is expected to be a trade candidate this offseason.
Brown made his first comments since the Eagles' season ended on Green Bay Packers star Micah Parsons' podcast. Here's what he said:
Many people who cover the NFL believe the Eagles will trade Brown this offseason. Brown had 78 catches for 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns in the regular season. He and QB Jalen Hurts weren't on the same page at all.
Brown has been with the Eagles since 2022. He has 339 receptions for 5,034 yards and 32 touchdowns in a Philadelphia uniform.
Eagles GM Howie Roseman said this about Brown during his season-ending press conference: "It's hard to find great players in the NFL and A.J.'s a great player. That's what we're going out and looking for when we go out in free agency and the Draft is trying to find great players who love football and he's that guy. So that would be my answer."
It will be fascinating to see if the Eagles trade Brown. He has been linked to the Buffalo Bills as well.
Brown has been in the NFL since 2019. He has 524 receptions for 8,029 yards and 56 touchdowns with the Tennessee Titans and Eagles.
The Eagles hired Packers quarterbacks coach Sean Mannion as their new offensive coordinator. Mannion, who joined the Packers as an offensive assistant in 2024, was promoted to QBs coach ahead of this season. He appeared in 14 NFL games with the Los Angeles Rams and Minnesota Vikings from 2015 to 2021.
