Eagles' AJ Brown Continues to Throw Slight Shots After Patriots Trade

It was rather evident that Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown wasn't enjoying his time in Philadelphia any longer. As a result, the Eagles figured it was best to send him to the New England Patriots in a blockbuster deal.

The time is over now, and all the Eagles can hope for is that they made the right decision on a player who was once regarded as one of the best not only on offense, but in all of the NFL.

However, I wouldn't think Philadelphia fans are wrong for feeling a certain way about some of the comments Brown has made over the past few weeks. Ever since he's been in New England, it feels like we're looking at a completely different guy, and that isn't right in a sense.

For how much Philadelphia was paying him, and all of the appreciation the fans were showing him for much of his time here, he wasn't always fully locked in. When speaking to reporters about how he feels about practice going on in New England, it didn't sound like he ever had as much excitement to go up against guys in a similar way to what he said about Patriots starting defensive back Christian Gonzalez.

“Gonzo, man. Great player,” Brown said, per SB Nation. “You know, hopefully everything works out (contract wise). I’m excited to get some work between him and [Carlton Davis] and the other guys, but Gonzo most definitely man. “I’m ready to go against him so we can push each other, get in the lab together because obviously, that’s good on good, you know, and there’s very little room for mistakes.”

“A.J.’s a great guy. We’ve been able to keep in contact, talk throughout the past three years. Anytime he’s hit me up, he’s told me to keep my head on straight,” Gonzalez said, per Yahoo. “He’s a great guy and a great teammate. I’m excited for him to be a part of this team and what he’s going to bring. He’s the ultimate competitor. So, I’m excited.”

To hear Gonzalez also say that he's been a great teammate is somewhat unfortunate, as that certainly wasn't the case in Philadelphia. I understand that a change of scenery can change a lot of that, but it's still frustrating, nonetheless.
