It's almost crazy to say that the Philadelphia Eagles enter next season with some stress, but there's absolutely no debate that it's truly the case.
For a team that's been arguably the best in the NFL over the past few years, Philadelphia finds itself in a somewhat strange position. Not only does this team need to win at a high level, but anything less than a Super Bowl ring might be considered a major disappointment.
The Eagles, however, are well positioned to accomplish just that. There's really no reason why this team can't be one of the best in all of the NFL from top to bottom, so I'd expect some good things to happen.
However, Bleacher Report believes that Philadelphia enters the season as one of the most anxious teams in the NFL, recently ranking it as an 8 out of 10 on the anxiety scale.
“Philadelphia Eagles: 8/10 It helps that they've been to three of the last nine Super Bowls, but they seem to be either Super Bowl or one-and-done. The bar has been set quite high, and now they're trying to bounce back from a disappointing campaign without their longtime No. 1 receiver and with yet another new offensive coordinator,” Bleacher Report wrote.
I don't want to disagree with Bleacher Report here at all. There's definitely a sense that if things don't go as planned for the Eagles, major changes are coming.
The front office, coaching staff, and players are all under a different type of light this year. After moving on from A.J. Brown, we'll have to see if that was the right decision as well.
However, Philadelphia just has so much talent that I imagine the season is going to go well. I'm unsure if that results in a Super Bowl, as nobody can ever predict that, but there's talent there, and that's all the Eagles need to get the job done.
We'll find out soon enough if all of the changes this spring and summer were the right ones. The Eagles went into this offseason looking to make changes to improve and hopefully did just that.
