The Philadelphia Eagles became the only team in the league to earn an elite statistic with their win over the Washington Commanders.
The Philadelphia Eagles became the only team in the NFL to have a perfect record in Week 1 over the past six seasons.
Head coach Nick Sirianni has been here for all of these seasons, improving his Week 1 record to 6-0.
The Eagles have consistently started the season strong, which has helped them reach two Super Bowls and win one during this six-year run.
Philadelphia set this record with a 24-22 win over the Washington Commanders on Sunday. Quarterback Jalen Hurts led the way for the Eagles offense, as he completed 14 of 25 passes for 203 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions. Hurts added 46 yards on seven carries on the ground.
He spread the ball out to multiple receivers, with tight end Dallas Goedert leading the way with four receptions for 77 yards and two touchdowns, while Dontayvion Wicks added two receptions for 73 yards and a touchdown in his debut with Philadelphia. Star wide receiver DeVonta Smith didn't score, but he had three receptions for 53 yards.

Defensively, the Eagles didn't generate much pressure, as Jihaad Campbell had the only sack. They also didn't force any turnovers, but the defense did enough, as the Commanders punted six times.
Philadelphia forced an inefficient game out of Jayden Daniels, as he completed 18 of 34 passes for 164 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions. Daniels added 31 yards on five rushing attempts.
Washington running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt had a solid game, rushing for 63 yards and a touchdown on 16 attempts. While the Commanders' offense threw some punches, it wasn't enough to overcome the Eagles in Week 1.
It was a strong win for Philadelphia to open the season against a division opponent, and they will look to improve to 2-0 in a Week 2 matchup against the Tennessee Titans.
