The Chicago Bears have injuries in their quarterback room, making Case Keenum an option to start against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Philadelphia Eagles may face off against the Chicago Bears' third-string quarterback as Caleb Williams deals with a hamstring injury and Tyson Bagent remains in concussion protocol.
While it wouldn't be as tough a matchup for the Eagles as falling Williams would be, Keenum is a capable veteran backup.
The 38-year-old quarterback is in his 15th season in the NFL, but hasn't appeared in a game since the 2023 season with the Houston Texans. In that season, Keenum appeared in two games, completing 34 of 53 passes (64.2 percent) for 291 yards, a touchdown, and three interceptions.
In his entire career, he has completed 62.3 percent of his passes for 15,175 yards, 79 touchdowns, and 51 interceptions.
If Keenum gets the start, Chicago will likely lean on the run game with D'Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai. Swift had an exceptional performance in Week 1 with 124 yards and three touchdowns on 18 carries, but wasn't as strong in Week 2 with 45 yards on 16 carries.
Monangai played well in Week 1, rushing for 100 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries, and in Week 2, rushing for 47 yards on 10 carries.
The Bears have a quality offensive line, and with two talented running backs, it will put pressure on Jalen Carter and the Eagles' defensive line to disrupt the run.

Odunze has five receptions for 95 yards, while Burden III has eight receptions for 95 yards, and Loveland has one reception for three yards through the first two games of the season.
All three haven't produced to the expected level, but Loveland has struggled the most after an impressive rookie season.
Chicago posted just three points in their Week 2 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, and with them possibly turning to their third-string quarterback, Philadelphia has a major advantage in their Week 3 matchup.
The Eagles have played far from perfect football this season, but they have come away with a 2-0 record. This matchup, which could be against Keenum rather than Williams or Bagent, gives them a great opportunity to start the year 3-0 while still working to establish the run game and limit turnovers on offense.
